COLOSSUS will participate in the CERIS Event on “Innovation Uptake”, taking place on 29-30 September 2026 at the BAO Conference Centre in Brussels. Organised within the framework of the Community for European Research and Innovation for Security (CERIS), the event will bring together policymakers, security practitioners, researchers, innovators and industry representatives from across Europe to exchange experiences and explore ways to strengthen the uptake of innovative security solutions.
A key focus of the event is how promising results from EU-funded security research can move beyond the research stage and achieve real-world uptake. Innovation uptake is a long-term process that requires support from the early stages of a project to deployment, scaling and market uptake. The event will bring together different perspectives on this process, with discussions covering topics such as intellectual asset management, innovation procurement, SME innovation and successful examples of security innovation reaching the market.
As part of the programme, Q-PLAN will represent the COLOSSUS consortium in the session “Accelerating uptake through open proposals for advanced SME innovation”, taking place on the afternoon of 29 September. The session will explore the challenges and opportunities associated with open proposals and other approaches that can help innovative SMEs accelerate the development and uptake of security solutions.
COLOSSUS’s participation will provide an opportunity to share the project’s experience and perspectives on innovation uptake, while learning from other European initiatives and engaging with stakeholders across the security research and innovation community.
